The most Inspiring Book I've ever experienced.

"The man with the most definite plan and purpose, rides on to victory."
Napoleon Hill, author of Outwitting The Devil

We spend a great portion of our lives in the educational system but during it's entirety we never learn the great importance of The Purpose of Life. Nor do we get any clarification on how to attain it for that matter. The curriculum doesn't include anything beneficial for succeeding in life... I've never once applied Math, History, English or Science to achieving my hopes and dreams. Since 2008 when I graduated from high school I've been on the pursuit of happiness while being financially, emotionally and spiritually unhappy. It wasn't until 2011 when I truly experienced failure, that adversity would be the most important subject I'd learned from in my 21 years of living.  And boy oh boy was it my saving grace. However this post is not about the flaws of the educational system or my shortcomings. It's more of a book review...

So about 3 months ago I began reading this amazing PHENOMENAL piece of literature that personally I prefer to call a bible. In a nutshell the book discusses all of the limitations we as human beings have been taught, as well as created for ourselves. It relates to my life, everyone's life in every single way possible. I would say it changed my life–  in better words, saved my life. It can benefit you just as much as it's benefited me.

Have you ever watched the episode of Full House when little Michelle had the dilemma of choosing between the imaginary Good Angel or Bad Angel located on her shoulders? Or possibly on an episode of The Simpsons, Family Matters, Lizzie McGuire or practically any sitcom when the choice between Good or Bad was an issue? These are representations of someone wrestling with a temptation. Two miniature versions of himself, an Angel and a Devil, sit on each shoulder and try to pull him in different directions. The character usually chooses to listen to the Good Angel and with that choice follows a positive outcome. What the television sitcoms don't include in these episodes is the most profitable information I gained from reading "Outwitting the Devil". That good angel, bad angel is always present in our minds, from birth up until death and possibly even beyond that.

Don't let the title fool you. This book is not religious nor does it discuss anything you hear in church. It is simply a guide to live the life you want to live. Napoleon Hill conducts an interview with the Devil that will alarm you. The answers were so disturbing that I became aware of things that I subconsciously ignored and brushed aside throughout my entire life.

I became familiar with techniques the devil used to keep me enslaved, unsuccessful and unhappy.

I figured out how I sabotaged my life for 5 years.

I learned why I've made excuses rather than solutions.

I realized the devil had control over my thoughts, habits, and life.

I became extremely familiar with the devil.

This book will grant you insight on how to break horrible habits that stunt your growth. Most importantly, if you are a lost soul like I was it'll help you regain control over your life, no matter your situation, circumstances, or environment. If you're not already thinking about picking up this incredible book here are a few powerful excerpts from Napoleon Hill's Outwitting the Devil

As a child growing up, I remember when Princess Diana died. My mother and grandmother stared at the television screen in disbelief for hours. Much like they did on September, 11th 2001. There reactions were very similar to the deaths of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and much before my time Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy.  All of these events in history directly effected people all over the world because we all feel . Rather we knew the people that died on 9-11 personally or just grew up with certain individuals like Michael and Whitney, their absence from this world was instantly felt.  We're all the exact same creatures with the exact same emotions. We feel sadness and happiness the same way someone of a different nationality, race, sex, and religion feel . We all came into this world the same way someone of a different ethnic background did. We all deal with setbacks as well as comebacks the same way someone of a different social class does. We all share t...

Lie Till' Yu Die.

We all lie — once a day or so, according to most studies. But usually we tell little lies, like "your new haircut looks great!" And most of us can control when we lie or what we lie about. But some people lie repeatedly and compulsively, about things both big and small. I'm convinced that the people who lie to me forget the lies they say to me... Excuses are BULLSHIT; Reasons No longer mean shit to me. s(he) be(lie)ve(d) At Some point in time you have to take responsibility for all the ugly shit you do to people,, if you hurt someone somebody is going to hurt you even worst. Once You Stab Me In My Back; I'll Pull It Out & Stab You In The Throat. I can smile & put up a front like everything is cool & gravy but deep down inside i HATE YOU.. Long Bus Ride Home

The world is controlled by two forces. The highest of the two being a positive energy of GOD, Compassion, and LOVE. The other being the complete opposite; utterly evil, destructive and hateful, better known as The Devil. I grew up being extremely familiar with the opposing side due to my elementary school fame... I can remember countless times where I was the cause of someone crying at recess because I excluded them from whatever girl group, club or gang my friends and I had formed at lunch earlier that day. The Spice Girls were usually who we strolled around Recess pretending to be. But looking back I realize we were more like Destiny's Child due to the fact the revolving door was always open. I was Beyonce though, so I did the kicking out and the replacing. Always. I was one of three black girls in my entire school so I was different and people admired that. Innocent souls admire the significant things in life. Unfortunately back then I let the hype go to my head and an EGO ...
